I discovered my passion for photography at 30 years old. I have been a musician, high school athlete, web designer, studied economics at the University of Tulsa, and worked as a business professional for several years. I bought my first DSLR camera to take pictures for web sites (and of my newborn daughter) and quickly discovered how much I love photography. I spent every spare moment of the next few months scouring the internet for every resource, tutorial, and online class about photography I could find. I absorbed the material as fast as anything I have studied in my life. That is what made it abundantly clear that this wasn’t just a new hobby. This is something that I need to do. It’s quite convenient that I am also pretty good at it. 😉
I moved to Tulsa in 2003 to attend TU. I have lived and worked in the area ever since. The summer after I graduated from college I married the love of my life, and 8 years later we welcomed our beautiful daughter into the world. My wife teaches and performs flamenco dance, and her father is a flamenco guitarist. I joined their group Reflejos Flamencos as a percussionist and guitarist after we met in college. Art has always been a part of my life. One thing I love about photography vs music is that I have the opportunity to create art with anyone or anything around me. I also have the privilege of capturing and sharing the unique beauty of everyone and everything I photograph.
